Farnandis Branch, a tributary to Bynum Run, is located south of the Town of Bel Air, Maryland. The watershed or area of land that drains to the stream is 600 acres. The headwaters is located near the intersection of MD Route 24 and Victory Lane. The Upper Farnandis Branch Stream Study will only include the area from Brookhill Court west to the headwaters, or approximately 85% of the total watershed (shown below as the green line) .

The Upper Farnandis Branch Stream Study began in 2017.
A draft report is anticipated in early 2018 and will be available for public comment. The plan will include a list of potential restoration projects to improve stream health.
Bynum Run and its tributaries including Farnandis Branch have been identified as impacted by sediment. As a result Harford County was required by Maryland Department of the Environment to develop the Bynum Run Restoration Plan for Sediment in 2016.
